Remember your first Email?
Mine was AOL. You’ve got Mail. Historical and fun!
Internet was new and they were giving CD’s away in the store. I put one into my computer and followed the instructions and “bada bing”, I had an email.
I clicked it and heard those magical words, “Welcome. You’ve Got Mail.”
There was an actual guy that said those famous words.
He also said, “Files Done.” Don’t forget, “Goodbye.”
That was in 1989. He did get other gigs.
Elwood Edwards did voiceover work for The Simpsons (1989), That’s So ’90s (2018).
Elwood is now 72 and an Uber driver.
So they were giving AOL FREE CDs! I took some every time I went to a store!
I grabbed a bunch of them and put them in a closet in a plastic container with a lid, never to be seen again, until spring cleaning this year.
So I dug them out. They were perfect, like brand new, so I sold them on eBay. I even had a floppy!
