It was all over the news. It happened on June 22, 1993, and was one of the most disturbing domestic dispute stories to ever hit!
The day before, Lorena went to the police to file a restraining order on her husband, John. They were having horrible fights, but the police told her that would take a few hours to process and Lorena didn’t want to wait. So she went home to their apartment in Manassas, VA.
So you may be wondering, what did John Bobbitt actually do to Lorena?
Lorena stated to the police that John sexually, physically, and emotionally abused her during their marriage, claiming that he had flaunted his infidelities and forced her to have an abortion.
That night, John went out with a buddy who was going to move into the apartment with him with because Lorena was going to move out.
After suffering for years in an abusive marriage, Lorena had had enough. That night, John Bobbitt came home heavily intoxicated and tried to force himself on her.
