My Vegan Friend Does Drugs
It’s true. It is like a dichotomy of sorts. Why eat healthily and hurt yourself?
Sometimes, when I read a story on Medium, I google a word to make sure I understand the point. Being the first time in my life writing the word dichotomy, I double-checked to make sure I was using it right.
What is an example of a dichotomy?
A dichotomy is a contrast between two things. When there are two ideas, especially two opposed ideas — like war and peace, or love and hate — you have a dichotomy.
I am not vegan, but pretty friggin close, so when I met this young couple a year ago and found out they were vegan, I was pretty amped to learn more. They were a couple. She had just turned 21 and he was 25.
They stopped by and together were having fun. I was intrigued by their vegan lifestyle. Because she had just turned 21 and wanted to drink some vodka. So I told her that would buy some and we would have a couple of shots.
I bought a half pint for a couple of bucks and they came back over. She brought her own juice for a chaser. They also brought some weed.
I don’t smoke weed, but I thought, that’s cool. It’s a plant. Herbal, right? They smoked some weed and she and I did a couple of shots. We giggled like little girls.
