How many computer tabs do you have open right now?
So 9000 tabs are the maximum number for this test. I checked my result with others and apparently many people with 8–16GB RAM got around 8000–9000 tabs too.
Can too many tabs crash your computer?
If you keep more than a few tabs open at the same time, it eats up your computer’s memory and makes everything, especially the browser itself, run slower. I have 120 browser tabs open, and my computer runs fine. I use chrome.
The titles of all the tabs are clearly visible, and there’s more vertical space in the main window to see, but if I zoom out my computers, some tabs get stored out of sight. They are nested.
As writers, we do tons of research.
I have 2 Macs and 2 PCs on my desk. A geek much? Yes! Writer central? It’s insane.
