Dear Abby. 4 AM.
I woke up. It was dark. I sat at my desk for 2 hours in the dark.
I wanted to write to you, but I am not allowed to turn on my computer. It wakes Matt up and he will yell at me. So shhh… I turned it on. 6:13 AM,
Sorry, Dear Abby, we have things called computers now. We first met in a newspaper.
This is many years later, so for the young people, a newspaper was simply that. News printed with ink on paper. It was so lovely. It was so perfect.
Morning coffee and a newspaper. In that newspaper was you, Dear Abby. You, headlines, sports, classified comics and so much more.
Remember? You were always close to the horoscopes and not far from the crossword puzzle.
Dear Addy, I miss you. but today, we are back together.
I want to take a second and play a song that John Prine wrote for you. It’s a classic!
