Opioid manufacturer Purdue Pharma LP (Purdue) pleaded guilty today in federal court in Newark, New Jersey, to conspiracies to defraud the United States and violate the anti-kickback statute.

So these rat bastards! Why is a kickback illegal?

Kickbacks are illegal because they affect the ability of employees, of both private companies and government entities to make unbiased decisions in the best interests of their clients and the marketplace as a whole.

So doctors got money from Mr. Pharma if they got their patients to take this shit for pain.

Purdue hoped that people would become addicted to these meds.

This abuse and diversion of prescription opioids have contributed to a national tragedy of addiction and deaths, in addition to those caused by street opioids.
